Universities, deemed-to-be universities, institutes of national importance, private universities, state universities, central universities, and higher education institutions across India that offer doctoral (Ph.D.) programmes are eligible to apply.

Yes. A participation fee is applicable for each application submitted. Institutions applying under multiple award categories and/or disciplines will be required to pay the applicable fee for each category and discipline selected.

Yes. Institutions may apply under one or more award categories and across one or more disciplines if applicable. Applications will be evaluated under the applicable institutional classification: Emerging Institutions (established less than 15 years ago) or Established Institutions (established 15 years ago or earlier). Participation fee is applicable for each category and discipline applied for.

No. Once paid, the fee is non-refundable, non-transferable, and non-adjustable under any circumstances.

Applications can be edited and saved as drafts until final submission. Once submitted, changes can only be made if the application is reverted by the Admin or Jury for additional information, clarification, or corrections.

Applicants may be required to provide:

  • Institutional profile and accreditation details
  • Information on doctoral programmes and enrolments
  • Research publications, citations, and scholarly output
  • Details of patents, innovations, and technology transfer
  • Research grants and sponsored research projects
  • Industry-academia collaborations
  • Doctoral scholar completion and placement data
  • Faculty and research supervision details
  • Supporting reports, presentations, policies, and other relevant documentary evidence

The evaluation process may include:

  1. Preliminary screening of applications
  2. Assessment by an expert Jury
  3. Final Jury evaluation and validation

Additional presentations, interactions, or institutional visits may be conducted if required.

Yes. Institution identities may be anonymized during the evaluation process to ensure fairness, objectivity, and unbiased assessment by the Jury.

Applicants will receive updates regarding the status of their application through the Awards portal and/or their registered email ID at various stages of the evaluation process.

Evaluation may consider factors such as:

  • Quality and impact of doctoral research
  • Innovation, patents, and technology transfer
  • Research funding and grants
  • Industry-academia collaborations
  • Doctoral student outcomes and completion rates
  • Research governance and institutional support systems
  • Societal and economic impact of research
